ISLAMABAD Official quarters, though, deny furnishing of resignation by Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin, yet the PPP has reportedly started looking for his replacement as candidates having connections in the Presidency have already geared up lobbying.
According to sources, the most probable replacement of Tarin, in case his resignation is accepted, is Nasim Beg, a candidate being pushed by President Zardaris close associate and crony Anver Majid whose sister is also married to Nasim Beg.
The sources believe that Nasim Baig, Chief Investment Officer of the Arif Habib Group has bright chances if the office of Finance Minister falls vacant in any case. Although there are other names in the race, too, such as Hafiz Pasha and others with their impressive credentials yet they are not taken seriously in the power corridors for they have no strong connections as compared to those of Nasim Baig.
