Earthquake jolts Peshawar, Islamabad

ISLAMABAD  - A moderate earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale jolted northwestern Pakistan Friday but there were no reports of casualties or damage, an official said.

Tremors were felt in Peshawar and Islamabad at 8:04 am, a seismological department official told AFP. The earthquake’s epicentre was located about 300 kilometers north of Peshawar in the Hindu Kush mountains of Afghanistan, he said.
