'US Marine' flexes muscles in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD - Station House Officer (SHO) of Secretariat Police Station Hakim Khan Thursday said that the police was probing into the incident that took place in the Diplomatic Enclave involving a 'US Marine who allegedly manhandled a resident of Nasir Apartments of the Enclave.
The complainant informed the SHO that his son Ibrahim who was reportedly beaten could not recognize the Marine while the US embassy has denied the involvement of any US official in the incident. SHO said that police was investigating the case and had contacted both parties in this regard.
It merit to mention here that Shams Khan lodged a complaint in Secretariat Police Station claiming that a US official had manhandled his son and kicked his car broken its door mirror.
He further alleged that the US official forced his son to sit outside the US embassy for three hours while questioned about his identity.
Talking to BBC, the complainant said that misbehaving with the Pakistani nationals living in the Diplomatic Enclave had become a routine matter for the Embassy officials. He said he would move the court if police failed to take any action in this regard.
However, the US embassy spokesman has brushed aside the allegation, saying no such incident had occurred. He further said such news items were being circulated under a 'conspiracy against the US embassy.
