Shahbaz welcomes SC decision

LAHORE Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has welcomed suspension of Federal Governments decision regarding appointment of judges by a three-member bench of the Supreme Court and said that this decision of the apex court regarding supremacy of the Constitution and law in the country is a commendable step.
In a handout issued here on Saturday night, Shahbaz said that the Federal Governments notification had no legal and constitutional status but it can create confusion among the people, the decision of the Supreme Court has made the situation clear.
The Chief Minister said it is unfortunate that in a period of one and half year after coming into power, the most important office of the country has tried to involve the nation into constitutional and political crises for the second time.
He said that the notification of appointment of the judges has proved that the government gives no importance to the law and the Constitution.
He said that perpetrator of this act has shown no regard for his oath and the Constitution of Pakistan.
