Nawaz files papers from NA-123

He was accompanied by several party MNAs and MPAs including Mian Marghub Ahmed, Naseer Ahmed Bhutta, Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, Kamran Michael, Ajasam Sharif, Imran Nazir, Dr Saeed Elahi. Besides, several party activists from  party's lawyers and Women Wing were also present on the occasion. The PML-N chief submitted his papers at 5:55pm before the court of Returning Officer Badrud Din Chaudhry. A large number of party activists gathered outside the courtroom who were holding placards and posters of Nawaz Sharif. PML-N activists were highly charged and remained chanting slogans 'Wazir e Azam Nawaz Sharif', 'Sher Aya Sher Aya', 'Go Musharraf Go'.

Soon after filing the nomination papers, Nawaz left the court premises without talking to media persons who had been waiting for him in the hot weather.

Hamza Shahbaz, son of PML-N President Mian Shahbaz Sharif also submitted his nomination papers from NA-123 as the covering candidate of Nawaz. Hamza has also filed nomination papers from PP-141 and PP-154.  He had already submitted his papers from NA-119.

Talking to media persons, Hamza Shahbaz said apparently there was no reason to reject papers of PML-N leaders but a person sitting in the Presidency was conspiring to destroy democratic process but he would fail because political forces are united against dictatorship.

When asked that at one hand PML-N was quitting govt while on the other it was participating in polls, he said all areas have their representations in Assembly and there were many seats lying vacant, so the party was contesting on those seats.
