Monitoring Desk adds: NWFP Senior Minister Bashir Bilour has said that the government is facing uprising in Matni and Swat, reported a private TV channel Thursday. Addressing an Independence Day ceremony in Peshawar, he said that objective to pass a resolution against President Pervez Musharraf from all four provinces was to show the world that he had lost confidence of majority.

He said the government was facing uprising in Matni and Swat. Maulana Sufi Muhammad was released despite external pressure and peace agreement was signed, he said. However, some elements challenged writ of the government and violated the agreement and the government launched operation in response, he added.
