Heeding the internal voices

By MUBASHIR HASSAN May 15, 2008

Earlier, majority of party men urged the party chief for early resolution of the judges' issue, which they believed had been much politicised, and damaged party's image among the masses. They argued that Government would not be able to pay due attention to address other important issues of public concern unless the contentious issue of judges' restoration was resolved.

Parliamentarians from Punjab raised the issue of postings and transfers of senior police and civil officers in the province, saying that PPP was not being consulted in this regard. Zardari asked them to be patient as it was not a big issue. He, however, assured them that he would take up the matter with Mian Nawaz Sharif at appropriate time.

In response to party men's concern to resolve the issues facing the general public, Asif told them that prime minister had been asked to visit at least one district headquarters every week to address grievances of the people and the party workers.
