At least three militants were killed Sunday in a clash with local tribal militia on the outskirts of Peshawar, a private TV reported. According to the channel, more than a dozen militants opened fire on the house of an anti-Taliban local Nazim in Badaber area. Eyewitnesses say some of the militants disguised themselves by wearing burqas. Security guards repelled the attack, killing three assailants while the others managed to escape. Nazim Mohammad Fahim Khan says Sunday's attack was one of several made on his life. Khan has organized a militia to fight the Taliban in his town of Bazid Khel, some 15 kilometers south of Peshawar. Another anti-Taliban mayor was killed earlier this month in a bomb attack outside Peshawar.
