Zardari spills the beans
President Asif Ali Zardari has for the first time admitted that former president Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf agreed to quit under an international deal and he (Zardari) himself was a part of the dialogue.
Talking to media on Monday, President Zardari revealed that certain international guarantors were involved in striking a deal under which Musharraf left his office, adding that the guarantors had their interest in the region. Musharraf has no future in politics as it was agreed between all the stakeholders that Musharraf after leaving the presidency, would play golf only, the president said, adding, Pakistan Peoples Party had never accepted Musharraf as president.
He informed that a reconciliation commission would be established and human activist Asma Jahangir could be appointed as its head.
Terming the news stories about corruption as nothing but a campaign to malign the politicians, he said, As long as, there is not a president like Farooq Leghari, there can be no minus one formula.
He said PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto would take an active part in politics.
