3 ministers portfolios changed; 2 ministries abolished

ISLAMABAD – Continuing the process of reshuffle in the Federal Cabinet, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani abolished Ministries of Investment and Planning Commission, and changed portfolios of three more federal ministers.
Sources in the coalition government informed that the process would continue and more changes in portfolios and merger of ministries would be made in the days to come.
According to the changes made in the portfolios of federal ministers, Mian Manzoor Wattoo is shifted from Ministry of Industries and Production to Ministry of Kashmir Affairs, while the portfolio of Industries and Production is given to Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani.
The portfolio of Education being vacated by moving of Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani to Industries and Production was allocated to Sardar Aseff Ahmad Ali who was made Advisor to PM on Education with the status of a federal minister. Earlier Sardar Aseff Ahmad Ali was holding the responsibilities of Ministry of Planning Commission, which has been abolished. Similarly Federal Minister for Investment Waqar Ahmed Khan is given the portfolio of Privatisation after abolishing it.
It is relevant to mention here that the Prime Minister also reshuffled the portfolios of three federal ministers a few days back.
The sources informed TheNation that more changes in the Federal Cabinet were imminent in days to come and a number of state ministers whose performance was not satisfactory would be replaced with the efficient members from Pakistan People’s Party.
The sources further informed that PPP was introducing these changes only to the portfolios allocated to their MPs while the ministries doled out to the coalition partners would remain unchanged and if the Premier wanted to get some federal minister belonging to the coalition partners changed, then a formal request in this connection would be made to the concerned coalition partner.
The sources further disclosed if some federal or state minister belonging to coalition partner would be affected in the merger of ministries, they would duly be accommodated in other ministries and divisions.
