India plans to deploy advanced aircraft along borders

NEW DELHI (APP) - As a part of a plan to build up forces along Pakistan and China borders, India on Monday inducted four Sukhoi fighter aircraft in Tezpur airbase in Assam along China border. This base would soon have a full squadron of the Sukhoi multi-purpose aircraft.
On Pakistan border, the Indian Air Force would deploy a squadron. Each in Halwara near Ludhiana in Punjab and Jodhpur in Rajasthan of Sukhoi aircraft by the end of 2010, media reports quoting IAF sources said.
Chahua, another fighter base in Assam, is also being readied to host a Sukhoi squadron in the future. India has already operationalised Advanced Landing Grounds, Daulat Beg Oldi and Chushul in the north. IAF has planned to acquire over 200 SN-30MKI in next five years.
