QUETTA - President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Ali Ahmed Kurd along with President PML-N Balochistan Sardar Yaqoob Khan Nasir, general secretary Muhammad Ayaz Swati Advocate and two other lawyers were off-loaded from an Islamabad bound-flight on Sunday after the Punjab government banned their entry in province.
Ali Ahmed Kurd, Sardar Yaqoob Khan Nasir, Ayaz Swati, President Balochistan High Court Bar Association Hadi Shakeel Advocate and Baz Muhammad Kakar had reached the Quetta Airport on 3:00 pm for leaving to Islamabad to participate in the long march and sit-in. On their arrival, the police officials presented a written order of the Punjab govt saying that they could not travel to Islamabad as the provicial government had barred their entry in Punjab. But Kurd rejected the order and refused to receive its copy, and entered into the departure lounge along with his other colleagues. During the process PIA authorities also issued boarding cards to them. However, after issuance of boarding cards authorities received orders for off-loading of Kurd and his companions at any costs.
The debate delayed the flight for more than one and a half hour. However, they dropped the idea of flying to Islamabad after some PIA officials them to leave the plane.
Later on talking to the media men outside the Quetta Airport, Kurd strongly criticised the govt for not allowing them to participate in the long march saying that the Punjab govt had no jurisdiction to place a ban on their movement in Balochistan. Prior to today, they were also not allowed to enter Sindh, he added.
