ISLAMABAD — Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari have decided not to accept the resignations of PML-N ministers and their cabinet slots would be kept open. However, to keep the working of the government smooth, the sitting cabinet members have been given additional charge of these ministries.

On Thursday Asif Zardari held a detailed meeting with the Prime Minister here at the PM House and discussed the overall political situation of the country arising out of the PML-N ministers' resignations over the judges issue.

They decided to keep open the cabinet slots vacated by PML-N ministers.

According to sources, Asif Zardari said on the occasion that he was committed to promoting the national reconciliation in the country and asked the Premier not to accept the PML-N ministers' resignations and let him convince Nawaz Sharif for taking back the resignations.
