AWAR - At least seven suspected militants were killed in a US drone attack in North Waziristan Agency on early Tuesday morning.
A US pilotless aircraft reportedly fired two missiles at a house, allegedly used by militants, situated near Miranshah Bazaar. The sources said the house was completely destroyed in the attack and seven dead bodies of suspected militants were recovered from the debris. They said most of those militants killed in the strike are stated to be Pakistani Taliban.
The sources said it was about 03:45 am when the US drone targeted the suspected house.
It is worth mentioning here that over 100 such raids were reported in the area in 2010 and more than 60 have taken place this year. Under President Barack Obama, the United States has drastically stepped up drone strikes in Pakistan but it refuses to discuss them publicly. The strikes have boosted anti-US sentiments in the country.
