At least 26 killed, 22 injured as blast rocked cattle market in Orakzai Agency
At least 26 people were killed and 22 other were injured in a bomb blast in cattle market of Orakzai Agency, a private TV reported.
A bomb went off in a village cattle market in Pakistan's Khyber region on the Afghan border on Thursday, causing several casualties, officials said.
"According to initial reports there are several casualties. We're making checks," said a government official in the region, Sajjad Khan.
At least 10 people were killed on Thursday in a bomb blast in a village market in Khyber region on the Afghan border, intelligence officials said.
"The death toll could rise as many people are still trapped under the rubble," one of the officials in the region told Reuters by telephone.
The deployed bomb was exploded when people were busy in trading in cattle market, according to eye witness. Security forces had cordoned off the area after the blast. Local people started rescue operations after the blast whereas injured has been shifted to district headquarter hospital. Rise in the death toll is also expected due to deficiency of health supplies.
