QUETTA Four people including a former SP were killed and four personnel of paramilitary troops were wounded in separate incidents of firing and hand grenade attack in Quetta on Wednesday.
A former SP of Balochistan Constabulary was killed at A-I City within the jurisdiction of Brewery Police Station. According to details, unidentified armed attackers opened fire on the vehicle of Muhammad Usman alias Tikka Khan, killing him on the spot. He was resident of Panjgour.
Motive behind the killing is not yet known. No group has claimed responsiblity for the killing of former SP.
In another incident, unidentified people hurled a hand grenade and opened indiscriminate firing on the patrolling vehicle of Frontier Corps (FC) at Brewery Road that exploded and wounded four personnel of security forces.
The security forces also returned fire, killing a suspected attacker on the spot, however, other attackers managed to escape from the site.
The attacker was identified Abdul Majeed Langav.
The sources said that security forces also raided a house and recovered rocket launchers, hand grenades and explosive materials.
Police shifted the body to hospital for autopsy and started further investigations.
On the other hand, unidentified people gunned down two people hailing from Shia community at Western Bypass area of Quetta.
The deceased were identified as Ghulam Muhammad and Muhammad Ali who were passing from Aktharbad an outskirt of the Quetta when they were ambushed.
The bodies were shifted to Bolan Medical Complex Hospital for autopsy.
Police said that that it was an incident of sectarian killing.
Police has registered cases and started investigations.
In Khuzdar, unidentified people hurled a hand grenade on Civil Hospital Khuzdar, some 360 kilometers away from provincial capital. The grenade exploded and scattered windowpanes of the hospital. However, no loss of life was reported in the blast.
Meanwhile, unidentified armed assailants wounded a barber in Turbat town.
According to sources, armed assailants on a motorbike sprayed volley of bullets at a barbers shop in Turbat town and fled the scene. As a result, Khuzda Bakhsh who was running the shop sustained serious injuries and rushed to the hospital for treatment.
