QUETTA-A poverty-stricken father was compelled to sell his kids merely for the sake of a bag of flour.
Muhammad Naheem Qazi, 35, resident of Quetta alongwith his wife and two children, 3 year-old-Amina Bibi and 6 months old Nouman reached Quetta Press club on Friday to sell his children.
'I did dispenser course in 1995 and made all efforts to find a job. I have submitted my applications in different departments including Health Department to get a job but did not succeed. I have also written letters to President and Chief Minister for help but all in vain, he said while talking to newsmen.
He said that he had a private job and his salary was Rs 2,500 which was insufficient to meet the needs of the family.
'My wife has been tested positive for hepatitis and she also needs proper treatment but I have no money for this purpose, he added.
Muhammad Naheem said that they had also no money to pay the rent of the house.
With tearful eyes, he said: 'I will give my children to anybody who gives me a bag of flour.
When he was asked whether he had contacted any philanthropists, he said this was responsibility of the govt to provide him with a job and he had come to record his protest through media so that he could get justice.
He said that he would continue his protest until and unless govt provided him job.
