Minister suggests toll tax on NATO vehicles

QUETTA (APP) Balochistan Ministry of Works and Service has made submissions to Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani to either impose provincial toll tax upon heavy containers of NATO forces or to request the federal government for holding foreign ministers level efforts for payment of compensation amount for the maintenance of highways and roads, which damaged following the transportation of these heavy containers from the province.
PPP parliamentary leader in Balochistan Assembly and Minister for Works and Service Mir Sadiq Umrani has informed this in a panel interview with APP on Friday.
The minister said that following his submissions, the Chief Minister also discussed the issue with the US Ambassador in Pakistan. The minister strongly refuted the propaganda of the presence of Blackwater personnel in Balochistan, adding that such propaganda of the presence of Blackwater and hiring of residential accommodations for them is completely baseless and has no root.
About the propaganda of the presence f Taliban in the province, the minister maintained that there were no Taliban terrorists in the province. About Rekodiq project, Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani said the Chief Minister Nawab Raisani has the strong view on this issue and during the meeting with the Ambassador of Italy, he made it clear that no compromise on the interests of Balochistan will be made by the government.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister however said that any other Italian firm, which has interest for exploration of minerals of the province can come forward with fresh proposals and after reviewing the offers, the government will decide to make agreement and carry out exploration from its resources, the minister said. Umrani made it clear that the present provincial government would uphold the interests of the product at all cost and never compromise on the rights and resources of the province. The government would make all such decisions which provide maximum benefits to the province, he added.
Responding to a question, Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani said that the conspiracies of anti-Muslim forces started since start of Islam.
