APDM warns govt of civil disobedience
By IRFAN BUKHARI June 20, 2008 ISLAMABAD — Reiterating its commitment to judicial independence and democracy in the country, All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) here on Thursday warned the government that if the alliance's demands were not fulfilled, the nation could be asked to observe civil disobedience.
On the concluding day of the two-day National Conference, called by APDM, the alliance's convener Mehmood Khan Achakzai read 15-point declaration of demands in a crowded press conference.
In the declaration, the APDM demanded immediate resignation by President Musharraf and restoration of deposed judiciary to November 2, 2007 position.
