LAHORE - Within three days of an end to the first long march for the reinstatement of the deposed judges, the Pakistan Muslim League-N has warned the govt of another long march, staging sit-in and laying siege of the Governor's House if the Governor Rule is not lifted and the N-League is not allowed to form the provincial govt.
This was told to the mediamen by former Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, while addressing a Press conference here at the Punjab Assembly.
PML-N's provincial leader Rana Sana said the party workers would march to the Governor's House if the Governor Rule was not lifted and the masses mandate was not respected.
'If the Governor Rule is not lifted, Members Punjab Assembly of the PML-N, and the party activists will start another march, stage sit-in and lay siege of the Governor's House till the Federal govt withdraws its decision of imposing the Governor Rule', he said, while warning the Punjab Governor against using various tactics for continuing the rule.
He asked the Governor to avoid ruining peace and prosperity of the province.
'Salman Taseer is giving his own interpretations to the Constitution. The PML-N is the largest party of the province, but hindrances are being created in its efforts at forming the govt, and it does not need support of any other party for this', he said, while accusing the Governor for using the administration as per his personal inclination, which was unconstitutional.
'The administration, by following the principles of the Quaid-i-Azam, should not obey the Governor's illegal orders', he added.
Rana Sana said 207 MPAs in a resolution passed on February 25, had rejected the imposition of the Governor Rule.
'The PML-N has the mandatory strength of numbers for forming the govt in the Punjab, and there is no rationale for the Governor Rule, which is a huge blow to the mandate given to the N-League by the people of the province', he added.
To a question, he said the police were given go head for shelling tear gas and baton- charge the activists, and workers of various political parties and the PML-N during the long march, which was condemnable.
While launching bitter diatribe against Farrukh Shah, Media Adviser to Governor, who is also holding additional charge of the Director General Public Relations, said inquiries were pending with the Anti-Corruption Establishment against the Adviser for embezzling Rs 550 million and Rs 300 million.
'Director General ACE Tariq Saleem Dogar was transferred when he did not bow under pressure for giving a clean chit to Farrukh Shah', he added.
