Nawaz asks Punjab ministers to serve masses

LAHORE - PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif has directed the Punjab ministers to serve the masses and divert all resources to resolve the problems being faced by people in the province.




He was talking to the members of Punjab Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Sardar Dost Muhammad Khan Khosa, at his Raiwind residence on Monday.




President PML-N Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Secretary Information Ahsan Iqbal, President PML-N Punjab Sardar Zulfiqar Khan Khosa, General Secretary Punjab Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Muhammad Iqbal, Deputy Speaker PA Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Provincial Ministers Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Ch Abdul Ghafoor, Ahsan-ud-Din Qureshi, Malik Ahmed Ali Aulakh, Malik Nadeem Kamran and Kamran Michael and Special Advisor to CM Pervaiz Rasheed were also present on the occasion.




The ministers presented the performance report of their respective departments. The meeting also discussed various future plans as well. Nawaz Sharif directed the ministers to keep close liaison with the office bearers and workers of the party with a view to get first hanf knowledge of the people's problems.




PML-N chief urged the ministers to come up to the expectations of the masses and keep their doors open for the people. He directed them to avoid spending even a single rupee on a purposeless issue and ensure provision of flour, rice and other essential item to the masses at cheaper rates.




News Desk adds: PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif has said that the mandate given to his party by the people will be honoured and defended at all costs and all the conspiracies against it will be defeated.




He was addressing a meeting of PML-N ministers of the Punjab Cabinet at his residence at Raiwind on Monday.




Shahbaz Sharif said that coalition with the PPP was also formed for the sake of reinstatement of judges, but in spite of everything the support for PPP government would be continued. "We hope that our mandate will be honoured in the same way as we are honouring theirs. However, we are prepared for any sacrifice to came true to our promises with the people and nothing is more important for us than this, may it the be the government in Punjab," he said.




Meanwhile, talking to a delegation headed by Rana Tanveer Hussain Nasir, Shahbaz said that all the nation was unanimous on the question of reinstatement of judges and no power of the world could hinder its way. He said that alliance with the PPP would not be affected even despite the intensity of conspiracies against it.




"The non-PCO judges will be had reinstated by all means, but we shall not take any such step as could weaken the government and provide the dictator with the chance do something against democracy," he said.




He also vowed that no violation of law and order would be tolerated and security of honour, life and property would be ensured to the people.
