The sources further said that both the leaders after having input on the issue by the two sides went into session along with their party leaders and FATA members at the residence of former CM NWFP Akram Khan Durrani.

After having threadbare discussion on the issue and various options to go about restoration of judges and resolving other contentious issues like granting of indemnity to the acts of former President Musharraf, both the leaders would now have another round of talks with the leadership of both the main coalition partners and would try to convince them to follow some middle course to restore the judges.

The sources close to PML(N) informed The Nation that PML(N) Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif was very much annoyed over what he termed the backtracking of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari on judges issue for the second time.

According to these sources Mian Nawaz Sharif would not accept anything less than restoration of the judges to pre-Nov 3 position, and that too with an executive order.

On the other hand the sources close to PPP informed The Nation that PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari wanted to link the judges restoration issue with granting of indemnity to former President Musharraf and the other constitutional reforms his party intended to introduce including scrapping of the 17th Constitutional Amendment and 58(2)b.
