Operation in Kurram ordered
Source: OUR MONITORING DESK August 21, 2008 THE federal government has issued orders to Frontier Corpse (FC) to take action against fighting groups in troubled Kurram Agency in case of cease fire violation. The FC personnel busted militants hideouts and shot dead at least 15 Taliban and they also destroyed potential hideouts of Taliabn in Bajaur Agency.
The interior ministry authorities said that the fighting groups had not accepted the offer of ceasefire and holding dialogue. Following the situation, the federal government ordered the FC to take action against miscreants for maintaining government’s writ.
In a report released by the interior ministry, it has been disclosed that 300 to 400 Taliban hideouts were targeted and they had suffered heavy loss in the action. The law enforcement agencies had recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition during the action, the report added.
