Split appears in PML-Q ranks
By IRFAN BUKHARI August 21, 2008 A second group of PML-Q MNAs consisting of Kashmala Tariq, Sardar Israr Khan Tareen, Nasrullah Khan Bijrani, Malik Nauman Ahmed Langryal, Talib Hussain Nakai and Mir Ahmadan Khan Bugti called on the PM at the dinner. It is pertinent to mention here that most of the parliamentarians who met the Prime Minister at lunch and dinner are already out of control of Chaudhry brothers.
Riaz Fatiana and Kashmala Tariq had formerly formed a reformist group in the party and thus had challenged the authority of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain while Sardar Bahadur Ahmed Khan Sihar and others had developed proximity with PPP during impeachment episode. The sources told this scribe that the PML-Q parliamentarians meeting with the Prime Minister into two separate groups was due to differences between Kashmala and Fatiana.
It is also important to mention here that Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain along with his loyal parliamentarians called on former President Pervez Musharraf on the same day while none of the above-named lawmakers was the part of that delegation. Background discussions with the members of like-minded group revealed that they were defiant of Chaudhrys and after the exit of Pervez Musharraf had again gained strength to challenge the authority of Chaudhry brothers openly. Like-minded parliamentarians also did not participate in the party’s CEC meeting held on August 19 (Tuesday).
