RAWALPINDI (Online) - Seven-member UN team probing into the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto assassination visited Liaquat Bagh on Thursday.
The team arrived in Islamabad to carry out investigations into BBs assassination. UN team did not waste a single minute at Islamabad Airport and went straight to the site where BB was assassinated. Strict security measures were taken at Liaquat Bagh on the occasion with deployment of heavy contingents of police and other law enforcement agencies. Traffic was also suspended on the roads around Liaquat Bagh.
During the coming weeks, the UN team members will be holding meetings and collecting documents in order to determine the facts and circumstances of Benazirs assassination, it was reported.
The Commission, which began its work on July 1, will submit a report to the UN Secretary General within six months. The UN Secretary General will then share the report with the Government and submit it to the Security Council for information.
