ISLAMABAD (APP) - Deputy Attorney General of Pakistan Muhammad Hussain Azad Sunday said that no court could convict a person twice in the same case nor it can issue order to any international court to reopen the cases whose fate was already decided. He expressed these views while talking to APP. Referring the article 13, section 403 of criminal procedure law of constitution, he said that if any court would follow the previous cases in the international court, its appeal may turned down on the plea of no legality and proven facts.
He insisted that courts couldnt go beyond the authority mentioned in the law and constitution. However, he made sure that PPP and the Presidency respect the courts, adding that its verdicts and the party was prepared to face any fallout of the SC verdict. PPP and its leadership had always faced challenges and we were not worried over this decision, he said. He said President Zardari had been convicted in one case and the Supreme Court had disposed of case. He added that the President has been under trial for over 12 years and no case has so far been proven against him.
Muhammad Hussain Azad, who is also a member of Central Executive Committee of PPPreiterated that the democratic government was answerable to the Parliament, which is an 'icon of democracy.
Parliament is supreme institution even court cant challenge the decision of the Parliament, he said. He regretted that over eight thousands people have been termed as the beneficiaries of NRO, but only President of Pakistan was made respondent who already was imprisoned on fake charges, he said.
