QUETTA - Pakistan closed the border crossing with Iran at Taftan for an indefinite period on Saturday.
According to sources, the step has been taken due to prevailing security concerns.
The closure of Friendship Gate at Taftan has caused shortage of edibles in the border towns of Balochistan adjacent to Iran, as the local residents, who largely depend on Iranian products, are complaining of severe food shortage.
