Shutterdown, wheel-jam cripple Balochistan

QUETTA-Complete wheel-jam and shutter-down strike was observed on Thursday in Quetta and other parts of the province on the call of Anjuman Itihad Marri in connection with the first death anniversary of Baloch leader Mir Balach Marri.
He was killed last year in an armed clash between security forces and Baloch fighters at Pak-Afghan border.
The strike call was also supported by other Baloch nationalist parties including Balochistan National Party (Mengal), Balochistan National Front (BNF), Balochistan Republican Party (BRP), Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP), National Party (NP) Baloch Students organisation (BSO) and Baloch Women Panel (BWP).
Routine life in Quetta was paralysed by the complete wheel-jam and shutter-down strike as all markets, shops and business centres remained closed and vehicular traffic remained off roads.
The main business areas of the City including Jinnah Road, Liaquat Bazaar, Abdul Sattar Road, Sariab Road, Brewery Road and other areas were completely closed.
