Mastermind of Capital attacks held

ISLAMABAD – Capital Police have claimed that mastermind of suicide attacks on World Food Programme building and Rescue 15 office in the Federal Capital has been arrested, adding the accused has also confessed his involvement in terrorist attacks on security forces in Swat.
Islamabad Police presented the alleged mastermind namely Jamsheed alias Tahir along with a suicide jacket before the media here on Friday where he confessed that he took part in suicide attacks in the Capital, besides his involvement in attacks on Pakistan Army in Swat and other terrorist activities.
In a media briefing, IGP Syed Kaleem Imam said that Jamsheed was a key activist of Ghazi Force that was formed by ex-students of Lal Masjid to avenge Operation Silence. He said the terrorist had confessed before the magistrate that he was involved in recent suicide attack in the Capital.
It is relevant to note here that WFP building was attacked on May 10, 2009 and six UN officials were killed and a number of others sustained injuries.
Kaleem said that police probe team got information that an ex-student of Jamia Faridia and Marif-ul-Islamia, both situated in Islamabad, was a mastermind of attack on WFP building. He said that he (terrorist) after getting complete information about the WFP officials informed his supreme leader Mullah Rahim who too was a former student of Jamia Faridia.
