Progress in Waziristan could be slower: Athar Abbas
Ongoing South Waziristan military offensive due to difficult terrain will take time in completion, Director General ISPR said. In interview to a foreign news journal Major General Athar Abbas said the forces advancing towards the stronghold of the militants but the progress could be slower due to the difficult mountainous terrain. The military spokesman affirmed the possibility of deployment of assistance to the militants from their allies but the military has taken steps that would clog entry of large number of the militants in Mehsud region. Any destabilization in the region could affect the entire region, Athar Abbas said.
