ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) has filed a plea in a Swat Qazi court highlighting the fact that Gul Bostan, trainer of Pakistans taekwondo team which participated in the German Open Taekwondo Championship, held from April 3 to 5 in Hamburg, Germany, has failed to return to Pakistan and thus brought a bad name to the country.
Secretary PTF Lt-Col Waseem Ahmed has also requested Sports Minister Aftab Shah Jilani and Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) to play their role in finding the whereabouts of Gul who originally hails from Swat. Waseem wrote a letter to top officials on Tuesday and made available its copy to The Nation.
The letter stressed the need for taking up the issue at the top level.
The act of an official has brought bad name to the country as well as to the PTF and he should be brought to justice. We are trying our best to locate him, and as soon we find more information, we will inform the authorities, says the letter.
Meanwhile, an email from Germany through the head of the team Axel Michael Hasse has led to tracing the telephone number of Gul Bostan.
Gul had made a call on March 31 to talk for coordination over his illegal stay abroad, said Waseem.
