Security alarms interrupt SC proceedings

ISLAMABAD (Online) - Triggering of fire alarm in room no 1 of Supreme Court due to technical fault interrupted court proceedings and caused panic among lawyers and judges on Monday morning.
A three-member bench headed by CJ Iftikhar M Chaudhry was hearing a case pertaining to NAB appeal in court room 1 of the Supreme Court when security alarms went off, creating panic among people who were present there in the context of cases.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Ch stopped the proceedings and directed the people present there to evacuate the courtroom.
Judges went back to their chambers and all other people were moved to safer grounds. A red alert caution was given to security department and security personnel cordoned off the courtroom. After clearance, the court resumed the routine affairs and scheduled cases proceedings.
