TheNation proves true once again

ISLAMABAD TheNations story titled 'Majority of missing persons sold to the US from Afghanistan (on 24th November 2009) proved true as the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday observed that majority of missing persons were handed over to the United States in former President Musharrafs tenure.
TheNation exposed while publishing the story that the majority of missing persons had been shifted to Kabul first and then handed over to the United States, earning bounties totalling millions of dollars. The story said that some of them were being kept in Begram and Pulcharkhi jails of Afghanistan.
On the very next day the office of the Attorney General of Pakistan issued notice in shape of clarification to newspaper office saying that no such evidences were presented before the apex court which could prove that the missing persons had been handed over to America.
However, TheNation stood by its story and did not publish the clarification accordingly.
It is also pertinent to mention here that TheNation had learnt by authority that Some 369 of the total 416 missing persons were handed over to Washington by the previous government. The government called them terrorists and harmful for the countrys peace as well as its interests.
