Survival lies in realising vision of Quaid, Iqbal: PM

Earlier, replying to questions from children of Nazriati summer school, the Prime Minister said that atta, loadshedding, price-hike, restoration of 1973 constitution, reinstatement of judges, freedom of the Press, etc., were various slogans, which formed part of our manifesto. The price-hike is due to price spiral of oil twice and global factor, but efforts are underway to control this menace. He however, said there was rationing of oil even in Iran.

Replying to a question on loadshedding, he said it would be controlled within one year. He said had not the previous PPP regime signed Independent Power Producers (IPPs), “we would have been in the stone age”.

APP adds: Gilani observed that nations have to do long term planning to deal with future problems, adding PPP’s manifesto is indicative of such foresight. The uplift plans envisioned in the manifesto will be implemented in letter and spirit for the socio-economic uplift of the nation, he said.

The Premier assured that PPP will fulfil all its promises to the people and follow policies that secure progress and development of the country. He said restoration of judges, independence of judiciary, revival of the 1973 Constitution and all other issues will be resolved soon.

Later, Editor-in-Chief The Nation and Chairman Nazria Pakistan Trust, Majid Nizami has reiterated his demand, calling upon the rulers to make Pakistan, an Islamic democratic and welfare state in connection with the vision of Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam.

He was giving his word of thanks at the prize distribution ceremony of Nazriati Summer School at Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan on Monday where Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani was the chief guest.

He thanked the Prime Minister for gracing the occasion at a short notice and said his speech indicated that he was Muslim Leaguer in his innerself.

Majid Nizami called for keeping high the Pakistan flag. “ It must not be down and fly high even at the cost of our lives”.

Majid Nizami also gave away shields to Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and his associates present on the stage.
