Investigators have found almost 39 empty shells of bullets from the spot which shows that assailants took two to three minutes and used SMG rifle, 222 rifle and 9mm pistols to accomplish their mission.
According to his family sources, Shahenshah was born in Liaquatabad and later shifted to Block 2, Azizabad. In 1991, he was shifted to Defence. The deceased began his career as a PSF activist and later took part in various elections on PPP ticket but could never win a seat.
Investigators of the assassination of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had also suspicion about Sahanshah’s mysterious activities on the stage in Rawalpindi before that tragic incident. But surprisingly, sources in the Bilawal House informed The Nation that Shahenshah was without any security guard for the last four days before his death.
Reportely, the deceased used to run a Rummy Club near his residence at Bhangoria Colony, Azizabad and had confrontation with late underworld don Shoaib Khan but after his death, Shahenshah occupied former’s club at Hockey Stadium. A few months back, a clash took place between his supporters and those of Nawab Khan, the younger brother of Shoaib. Resultantly, one of Shahenshah’s men was killed on the spot.
Source added that Shahenshah had also dispute with a group active in the area of Ranchorline.
A police official, seeking anonymity, told that radical forces could be behind the incident because intelligence agencies have already pointed out that Taliban would target PPP leaders. Another source also claimed that it might be possible that Shahenshah was killed by his accomplices over the issue of rummy clubs.
