nd a dozen people were killed and 12 others sustained injuries in separate incidents of violence across Balochistan on Thursday.
Police said that five people were killed and three sustained bullet wounds in exchange of fire between two rival groups in Zamran area of Turbat. The injured were shifted to hospital while police took control of the area where the two rival groups indulged in pitched battle and traded fierce fire.
Police said that some armed men opened fire on a passenger bus carrying pilgrims who were on their way from Quetta to Taftan. As a result four pilgrims were killed and nine others injured. The injured were shifted to near-by hospital for medical treatment. Locals staged protest against the terror attack against the innocent pilgrims.
Police recovered a body in Dera Allah Yar, which was spotted by locals who informed the police and shifted the body to hospital for autopsy.
In yet another incident, one man was shot dead by unknown armed men in Gandawa area whose identity was not yet ascertained.
Meanwhile, unidentified persons have kidnapped two passengers in Bakhtiarabad area of Nasirabad and two women from Gandawa and Quetta. Police have registered separate cases and started investigation.
Balochistan province has been witnessing growing incidents of criminal activities where several innocents have been killed for unknown reasons. Locals have asked the government to initiate measures for curbing criminal activities and providing security to the citizens living in uncertain and terrible environment but provincial government appears to be least disturbed and taking no meaningful steps to bring the situation under control.
