Mayo Hospital MS suspended

LAHORE - Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa has suspended Medical Superintendent Mayo Hospital Lahore, Dr Fayyaz Ahmad Ranjha on the charges of poor cleanliness in the hospital, improper look-after of the patients by the doctors and complaints of purchasing medicines from the market.

The Chief Minister Thursday visited the Mayo Hospital along with Minister for Food Malik Nadeem Kamran, Minister for Prisons Ch Abdul Ghafoor, Minister for Excise and Taxation Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, MNA Mian Marghoob Ahmed and President PML-N Youth Wing Mian Ghulam Hussain Shahid.

The Chief Minister took strict notice of the absence of MS Dr Fayyaz Ranjha and listened to the complaints of the people after coming out of his car.

He directed Malik Nadeem Kamran and Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman to listen to the problems of the attendants of the patients and immediately submit a report to him.

Both the ministers listened to people's problems for about two hours and reviewed the situation. During the inquiry, unhygienic arrangements were witnessed and the people showed them medicines purchased from the market for the treatment of their patients while insufficient number of doctors was present on the duty.

Both the ministers submitted their reports immediately to the CM on which he suspended the MS Mayo Hospital and constituted a five-member committee to further probe into the matter.
