Good news on 17th Amend soon: Kaira
ISLAMABAD (APP) - Minister for Information and Broadcasting
Qamar Zaman Kaira Sunday said that President Asif Ali Zardari would soon announce good news regarding the 17th amendment of the Constitution and his other powers.
According to a private TV channel, the Information Minister said the President would address the joint session of the parliament in March 2010.
He said that mere levelling of charges couldnt take away the rights of any person. Even today there are people in the assemblies who have cases against them, he added. Kaira said all the candidates who contested general election of 2008 were eligible and that the government would accept whatever decision the court announces on the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).
He said, Our government has served the country as best as it could and pulled it out of the crises created by the previous government. He said the government has also prepared Balochistan package for resolution of problems being faced by the province.
