By SHAIQ HUSSAIN September 23, 2008

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan and India Monday agreed to start trade across the Line of Control (LoC) in disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The cross-LoC trade is expected to start after Eidul Fitr following a formal announcement by the Governments of India and Pakistan.

Pakistan and India reached an understanding on modalities to start trade across the Line of Control at a meeting of the Joint Working Group on cross-LoC Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) in New Delhi, said the Foreign Office spokesperson Muhammad Sadiq.

In the meeting it was decided that the trade would take place on two routes, namely Srinagar-Muzaffarabad and Poonch-Rawalakot.
