SSP escapes bomb blast in Karachi

KARACHI-Lyari Town SSP Raja Omar Khattab sustained minor injuries in a bomb attack on him near Saddar police station, located at Shahrah-e-Faisal area on Saturday. Some of the high police officials suspected that the banned outfits might be behind the attempt to kill him.

The bomb was planted in a bicycle parked in Saddar Police Lines at main Sharah-i-Faisal, where his residence is located, adding, that the explosion occurred outside the residence of Khattab, when he was on his way to the office.

Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) teams reached the spot for inquiry, while the ambulances of different welfare organisations also reached there to take the victims to the hospital.
