LAHORE PML-N Chief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has expressed the hope that the nation and the country would soon be out of the present predicament.
Extending his facilitations to the newly elected body of Council for Pakistan Newspapers Editors (CPNE) through a message Monday, Nawaz said the country was passing through a difficult period yet. But showing optimism, he said the current phase would soon be over and the nation would regain its lost prestige and stability.
Congratulating the newly elected President of the council, Khushnood Ali Khan and other office bearers, he said their election reflected the trust of the community in their leadership.
He appreciated the media role in the country particularly on the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) and Kerry Lugar Act issues, saying that it truly corresponded with the aspirations and sentiments of the masses.
He expressed the hope that under the leadership of the newly elected body, the CPNE would address the problems of the community and the country.
Nawaz said his party was committed to ensure stability in the country and to address the fundamental problems of the masses as well as to purge the country of corruption, for which it would continue its efforts, adding that the PML-N wanted transparency in every institution, which was a pre-requisite of good governance and democracy.
The PML-N leader said they had been fighting and would continue to struggle to find solutions of the problems created during the dictatorial period.
He hoped that the CPNEs new office bearers would discharge of their efficiently.
