40pc share in Punjab cabinet for PPP
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER September 24, 2008 LAHORE - Following the decision by PPP and PML-N to keep the coalition intact in Punjab, the latter has agreed to give 40 per cent share of power to the former in the province as agreed upon between the two parties at the time of formation of coalition government.
A four-member committee of the PPP and PML-N met here on Tuesday to chalk out modalities in this regard. Advisor to Chief Minister, Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa, Punjab Minister for Law, Rana Sana Ullah, Senior Minister Raja Riaz and Punjab Minister for Finance Tanvir Ashraf Kaira attended the meeting.
Later, while briefing newsmen after the parleys, the leaders from both sides gave an impression to the media that all contentious issues between the two parties have been resolved and that they would work together as before to serve the people.
Speaking on the occasion, Raja Riaz told reporters that he was very much satisfied with the outcome of the meeting, as the PML-N has accepted PPP’s right to have its share of power in Punjab at the ratio of 60:40 respectively. He said a strong govt in Punjab would emerge after the recent understanding reached between the coalition partners.
