ISLAMABAD Former federal minister for parliamentary affairs, Dr Sher Afgan Niazi on Sunday said that Pervez Musharraf would soon return to Pakistan to take part in politics to pull the country out of crises.
In an exclusive interview with Waqt TV, he claimed that Musharraf, the former military dictator, would lead the All Pakistan Muslim League on his return, adding that the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) was promulgated through mutual understanding between the PPP and PML(Q).
He said that Musharraf was not among the perpetrators of the NRO. He termed the apex courts decision on the NRO as contradictory to the constitution. He said that President Asif Ali Zardari and the Parliament were made a scapegoat through the detailed verdict. Presently, the SC is ruling the country, he observed.
All factions of the PML would gather under the wise leadership of Musharraf, Niazi claimed.
To a query, he said that it was a mistake of the Government not to defend the NRO in the court. He claimed that all efforts were being made to remove the President through courts. He said that nine years of Musharrafs regime were exemplary as the first time in the history of the country, the assemblies completed for five years term.
Sher Afgan said that the Government could not deliver as per expectations of the masses. He said that Musharraf would address the miseries of the masses ultimately.
It is relevant to mention here that Niazi is Senior Vice President of PML(Q).
