PML-N to wait; ANP welcomes

ISLAMABAD - Awami National Party (ANP) has welcomed the proposed constitutional package while the second major ruling coalition partner, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has not come forward with a clear stance.

The PML-N has expressed its reservations over the restoration of deposed judiciary through constitutional amendment and reduction in the tenure of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

Chairman, Pakistan Muslim League-N Raja Zafarul Haq, while talking to TheNation said that the matter of restoration of deposed judges should not be included in the constitutional package. "The reinstatement of deposed judges should be done through a resolution in the National Assembly followed by an executive order according to Murree Declaration," he said.
