2 killed, 6 injured in fresh Kurram clashes, curfew relaxed in Swat: ISPR
September 25, 2008 At least two people were killed and six other injured as clashes between warring tribes continued in Kurram Agency on Thursday.According to sources, rival tribes continued to fight in Kurram Agency. Meanwhile, the death toll in two months long fighting has climbed to 800 while more than 1500 persons are injured.People are facing food shortage as most of the road links are closed in the troubled region.
The power supply remains suspended in Swat for the sixth straight days while curfew has been relaxed from 7:00am to 9:00pm across the district Thursday. It may be reminded that some unidentified miscreants had blown up Mangor grid station some six days ago in Aman Kot followed by an other blast which destroyed the main gas line some three days back. People are facing many problems as power and gas supply remains suspended in Swat. The central and provincial governments have not taken any step in this regard. According to ISPR, curfew has been relaxed across the district from 7:00am to 9:00pm.
