ISLAMABAD Police have released a picture of the suicide bomber who blew himself up here at the entrance of an Imambargha near Sian Bota Darbar on Thursday last, and announced a rewards of Rs 0.5 million for those who would help them identify the bomber.
Police said that the name of the informer would not be disclosed. A spokesman for Islamabad Police said that the age of the bomber was 13 to 15 years and his height was 5 feet and 4 inches.
Police requested that in case of any information about the bomber, the informer could inform at the office number of Deputy Inspector General of Islamabad or at Rescue 15.
Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered regarding the aforementioned blast and IGP Syed Kaleem Imam has constituted an investigation team. The team comprising SP Investigations Saqib Sutan, SP Rural Tahir Ayub, DSP Shahzad Town and DSP CID Muhammad Ihsan.
Meanwhile, Inspector General Syed Kaleem Imam has promoted the Head Constable Muhammad Ittifaq, who stopped the suicide bomber to enter fully packed Imambargha at Shakrial, to ASI. He said Rs 100,000 would be given to Ittifaq as a reward in recognition of his bravely and timely act.
Police Spokesman said that IGP would also request to authorities concerned to confer Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal on the aforementioned police official.
