Indemnity to Nov 3 moves unacceptable, says Imran
Source: Our Monitoring Desk May 26, 2008 PAKISTAN Tehrik-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan has said that the APDM, lawyers' community and people of Pakistan would not accept indemnity to Nov 3 moves. "If it is done, it would be done for personal gains instead of any greater national interest," he said, adding, "It means it would pave way for another dictator to take unconstitutional steps in future as well."
In an interview with Waqt TV channel, Imran said that it would be a conspiracy against the judiciary if pro-PCO judged were mingled with judges who took stand against PCO. He said that the constitutional violators should be brought to book and people of Pakistan could not be befooled through mere political statements.
He further said that PML-N Quaid Nawaz would have to take a decision either to sit on treasury benches or to come on streets for a real democratic system in Pakistan if the constitutional package provided indemnity to Nov 3 moves. However, Nawaz's position is quite clear on judicial issue at this stage, he added.
