Indemnity to Nov 3 moves unacceptable, says Imran
Source: Our Monitoring Desk May 26, 2008 To a question, Imran said that the APDM had respected people's mandate and given time to the government as far as the judges' reinstatement was concerned. He said that the APDM would devise a future strategy after reviewing the proposed constitutional package. He said that they wanted to see pre-Nov 3 judiciary back in its position. According to an international survey, 81 per cent of Pakistanis wanted an independent judiciary, Imran said, adding that his PTI was the only party which placed the independence of judiciary on the top of its agenda.
To a question about the American influence in Pakistan, Imran said independent judiciary in Pakistan didn't suit the US because it would not allow them to take away their wanted persons without following a judicial procedure, as it had been done in the past.
