ISLAMABAD - Jamiat Ulema Islam (Fazl) has presented four priorities to Pakistan People's Party (PPP) for supporting its presidential candidate Asif Ali Zardari.

JUI-F Secretary General Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri Tuesday told TheNation that his party presented those priorities to the PPP in a meeting held in Parliament Lodges on Monday last.

"In the priorities, the JUI-F demanded of the PPP government to announce weekly holiday on Friday instead of Sunday and stop military operation in tribal areas. We also asked the government to reopen Jamia Faridia immediately," he said. He said the JUI-F also wanted amendment in Hadood Ordinance according to the Holy Quran and Sunnah.

He said that a meeting of Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the JUI-F would be held today in Islamabad. "We would discuss all current issues of the country including law and order situation in tribal areas and the supporting to the presidential candidate of the PPP," Haidri concluded.
