When asked if he had some solid information that Punjab govt was using official resources and carrying out horse-trading in favour of its Presidential nominee, Taseer avoided directly blaming the Punjabgovt and just contented to say that it was every party’s right to seek vote for its candidate, but nobody should be coerced into voting in favour of a particular candidate.

To a question, he confirmed that PPP was contacting PML-Q lawmakers to seek vote for Asif Ali Zardari.

During question-answer session, the Governor was reminded by a journalist that being Governor of a province, he was supposed to be a non-partisan person, but contrary to his official position he was running Asif Zardari’s election campaign. Upon this, Salman replied, ‘I am not leading Asif Zardari’s election campaign’.
